DRINK POSTER

Project Overview

In my illustrator class, we were given an interesting project of creating an advertisement for a fictional beverage. As someone who is interested in Balkan culture, I decided to create an ad for a balkan kvass, which I named Juvech. I wanted to bring a sense of cultural authenticity to my design and decided to style it in a minimalistic, communist propaganda poster.

When tasked with designing a poster for a fictional drink, I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate an eastern European style into the design. While I didn't have much time to brainstorm, I was determined to create an old-fashioned look that would evoke a sense of nostalgia for the drink's origins.

I wanted the poster to have a distinct, almost gritty feel that would be reminiscent of the propaganda posters that were prevalent during the Cold War. This decision was not only inspired by the drink's origins but also by my love of vintage design and typography. By incorporating elements of eastern bloc design, I hoped to create a visually compelling poster that would capture the viewer's attention and interest.
